The SEC Championship started off with a bang on Saturday when No. 1 ranked Georgia opened the scoring with a 95-yard blocked field goal return for a touchdown.

It was not only a great play by the Bulldogs’ special teams unit, it was also a great lesson in always playing until the whistle.

Georgia’s Nazir Stackhouse was able to break through the line and get a hand on Damian Ramos’ 32-yard field goal attempt, resulting in it rolling down to the Georgia five-yard line. But while LSU’s field goal unit seemed to think the play was automatically finished and gave up on the play, Georgia’s Christopher Smith waited for the perfect moment to pick up the still rolling football and return it untouched for a 95-yard touchdown to open the scoring.
